Despite having a versatile quad-camera setup co-developed with Leica, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is ranked 14 on DxOMark Mobile’s camera list with an overall DxOMark score of 140. This puts it on par with the Google Pixel 7 and Galaxy S23 Ultra but it is one position behind older flagships like the iPhone 13 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. According to the breakdown of DXOMark’s review, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra scored 138 points for photos and 137 points for video. They found the flagship device to produce very consistent image quality on all zoom range and has a pleasant and neutral white balance for both photo and video. They remarked that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra does offer a fairly wide dynamic range for photo, and a smooth and accurate video autofocus. However, they noted a shutter delay between pressing the shutter and capture. Colours are said to be oversaturated for outdoor conditions and there’s noticeable tone compression for faces in high dynamic range scenes. For videos, it was found that the 13 Ultra has white balance and exposure transition issues, and there are also noticeable artifacts for moving elements in video. When compared to the previous Xiaomi 12S Ultra which is currently ranked at 20, DxOMark said the 13 Ultra produces images with similar rendering while offering significant improvement in zoom, video colour and video autofocus. However, it was let down by exposure instabilities, video artifacts and inconsistent stabilisation, which prevented it to obtain a higher ranking. At the moment, the Huawei P60 Pro remains the 1 device on DxOMark’s list with 156 points. This is followed by the Oppo Find X6 Pro with 153 points, Honor Magic 5 Pro with 152 points, Oppo Find X6 with 150 points and the Huawei Mate 50 Pro at 149 points.
